Since my graduation from Law School in 1990 I have been specializing in assisting migrants and refugees who wish to obtain a residence permit in the Netherlands. In 2019 I started the law firm LEF Advocatuur, which provides legal aid for immigrants and refugees.
As an attorney specialized in Dutch and European Immigration Law, I am working on cases for amongst others refugees, immigrants with a work permit or a permit with their partner, immigrants seeking family reunion, applicants for Dutch nationality and immigrants in detention.
In addition, I assist people who have a problem with the COA or the ‘gemeente’, such as an incorrect registration in the BRP or people who are removed from the shelter .

My fee is not as high as commercial fee you would have to pay for most attorneys, and clients who need subsidized legal aid will be welcomed in my firm. Depending on the clients’ income I may be able to obtain a ‘toevoeging’ (supplement) from the ‘Raad voor Rechtsbijstand’ (Board for Legal Affairs). In these cases the client only pays a small fixed fee which is called ‘eigen bijdrage’ (co-pay).
